Static Voltage Stability Analysis of Power Grid with UPFC Considering Wind Power Uncertainty

The widespread integration of renewable energy sources will impact the static voltage of the power grid. Advances in power electronic devices have led to more extensive research into Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) for enhancing power flow regulation and static voltage stability. The Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is taken into consideration while examining the static voltage stability of new energy grids in this article, and the effectiveness of the UPFC’s power flow regulation is assessed in terms of system static voltage stability. Firstly, the equivalent circuit and working principle of UPFC are analyzed, and the power flow calculation equation is derived from the equivalent power injection model of a UPFC; Secondly, an index for evaluating the system’s static voltage stability, considering wind power uncertainty, is proposed utilizing the equation for power flow calculations. Monte Carlo simulations are employed to assess the probability of the static voltage stability index. The study involves evaluating the influence of renewable energy sources on static voltage stability at different penetration rates, analyzing the effect of UPFC on the static voltage stability at weak nodes within the new energy grid, and validating the proposed method’s effectiveness and accuracy through simulations.
