Automated Water Monitoring and Regulation System using Internet of Things

Monitoring the quality of water in real-time is crucial for ensuring the safety and cleanliness of water, given its vital importance in our daily lives. Most water filtration systems both manual and high end have the technology to filter the instream water supply into a pre-programmed or manually fixed level of filtration level during the time of its installation. This fixation of water filtration level is solely based on the salinity and other qualities of the instream water supply in the system. Therefore, the only option if the characteristics of the instream water supply change is to manually reprogram the system to maintain the previous/desired filtration level. The proposed project includes hardware and software to enable the existing water purifier with the Internet of Things. pH value, Electrical Conductivity, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) value are some of the few aspects that are used to determine the quality of water. The technology that will be used in the project is the Internet of Things (IoT), which is an advanced and efficient solution for connecting devices like electronic gadgets, sensors, etc. to the Internet. The system monitors the water properties like TDS value, pH value, hardness, and electrical conductivity before sending it to the purifier. The collected data from sensors will be sent to the user using IoT. Based on the data and threshold value of the water quality the user will decide whether to purify the water or is it fit for consumption. The data updated from the implemented system can be accessed using IoT from anywhere at any time.
