Techno-economic Analysis of Multi-Mega-Scale Off-Grid Photovoltaic-Hydrogen Production System

The importance of producing green hydrogen from renewable energy sources is increased with the growing need of clean energy carriers. This research focuses on the Algiers potential to generate green hydrogen using multi-mega-scale off-grid photovoltaic-hydrogen system to serve hydrogen users. To obtain the lowest Levelized Cost Of Hydrogen (LCOH), the system is investigated and optimized utilizing a three-objective approach including total hydrogen deficit and energy dump possibility. A dynamic power and hydrogen management strategy is used for the control of the system. The short-term (2025) cost scenario is applied. Eighteen feasible solutions has been addressed. The worst and best solutions gives LCOH of 18.24 ∃/kg and 11.89 ∃/kg, respectively.
