Design and Sizing of Wind Blades Based on Generator Parameters for Small Wind Turbines for Low Wind Regions

Renewable energy sources, particularly wind energy, have gained significant traction in recent years as a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional power generation. Among various wind energy technologies, small wind turbines have emerged as promising solutions for decentralized energy production, catering to localized power demands. However, designing an efficient and reliable small wind turbine necessitates a deep understanding of key technical aspects, innovative approaches, and lessons learned from previous research efforts. In this research paper presents a method to determine the blades shape that ensure the rated power of 3KW and 5KW small wind turbine installed in north of Algeria.in which the mean wind speed equals 3m/s at 10m of high. The method based on the generator rate data as rotation speed (250rpm) and deferent rated wind speed values (10m/s,11m/s and 12m/s). In this case, the investigation analysis has been done by using Qblade software. The results demonstrated that the models designed at 10m/s present the best models with high annual energy production but, it should equip by gear system with conversation ration equals 1.62 for the both small wind turbine (3KW and 5KW).
