Design and Implementation of a Multi Connectivity Datalogger using SD Card Storage for Photovoltaic System Monitoring

The design and construction of a low-cost datalogger for remote monitoring of stand-alone solar systems are presented in this work. It satisfies accuracy standards, uses open-source hardware and software, and stores data on an SD card. It uses an Arduino Uno board, a SD card for data storage, Bluetooth and USB for data transfer, and a Windows application for data analysis. A solar photovoltaic system's electrical and meteorological characteristics will be monitored and recorded. The Arduino Uno board was selected as the microcontroller platform due to its wide availability and simplicity. A DS1307 Real-Time Clock (RTC) chip is included in the system for precise date and time stamps related to data that is saved in the SD card. the windows application is developed to make data analysis and visualisation easier. With the help of this application, users may perform data processing and storage, get data from the datalogger to a PC via USB or Bluetooth, and create graphical representations of the logged parameters. This application provides an intuitive user interface for simple communication with the datalogger system. The use of the suggested datalogger system offers a reliable and affordable method for tracking and studying solar installations. The logging, storing, transferring, and visualising of data are made possible, which helps with the overall administration and optimisation of solar energy systems.
