Analysis of Tendencies and Factors that Impact the Export of Coconut Products from Thailand to the Chinese Market

This research focuses on the pivotal role of coconut, a crucial economic crop in Thailand, especially in Thai cuisine, where coconut meat is prominently featured in both savory and dessert dishes. Beyond its culinary use, there is significant potential for value addition through processing. The objectives of this study are as follows: 1) Investigate the current production status, processing methods, and export trends of coconuts in Thailand. 2) Analyze the evolving trends in Thai coconut exports to the Chinese market. 3) Examine the factors influencing the export of Thai coconut products to China. Data for this study were sourced from relevant government agencies and analyzed using Microsoft Power BI. Data predictive modeling was carried out using the Minitab program. The findings indicate a consistent increase in the export of Thai coconut products to China over time. Notably, atmospheric pressure emerges as a key positive factor significantly influencing coconut exports from Thailand. Conversely, factors such as cultivation cost and production volume hurt the export volume of processed coconut products. Additionally, antecedent rainfall exhibits a moderate positive influence, while reservoir water levels have a low negative impact on coconut exports.
