Study on Limiting Performance of Ferrite Microstrip Limiter Due to the Spin Waves With Distinct Properties

The power-limiting performances caused by two types of spin waves in the ferrite microstrip limiter are conducted theoretically and experimentally when narrow microwave pulses are applied for excitation. The theory indicates that the spin waves responsible for nonlinear (NL) power loss are primarily characterized by the applied bias magnetic fields that the magnetized ferrite. Thus, the simulation of limiting responses due to various bias magnetic fields is performed by constructing equivalent NL loss parameters in the limiter model. The simulation results align well with the measurement data and can describe the limiting responses due to distinct types of spin waves in the ferrite limiter.
