Design of a Compact UWB Cloverleaf Antenna with Defected Ground Structure

The FCC's Ultra Wideband Standard, defining the 3.1-10.6 GHz range, has gained significance in Industry 4.0 and IoT. In alignment with these regulatory requirements, we present a meticulously designed antenna operating within the 3.9-10.7 GHz spectrum, realized using the CST Suite Studio program. This novel antenna boasts remarkable performance metrics, featuring a 5 dBi antenna gain and 82.56% to 98.78% efficiency, surpassing FCC criteria. Notably, it exhibits a broadband radiation pattern in the far-field, signifying its adaptability and versatility. Employing ROGERS RT5880 (lossy) as the dielectric material with an epsilon value of 2.2 and a thickness of 0.508 mm, alongside annealed copper for the ground layer, the antenna maintains a compact form factor, measuring 30.5x35.42 mm

with a slender thickness of 0.578 mm. This research underscores the antenna's significance in the context of Industry 4.0 and IoT applications, providing exceptional performance and adaptability for a wide range of technological endeavors.
