A New High Step-Up NPC-Based Switched-Capacitor Seven-Level Grid-Tied Inverter for PV Applications

In this study, a seven-level neutral point clamped (NPC) grid -tied inverter using switched capacitor unit is provided. The proposed topology can generate seven-level output voltage waveform with voltage boosting capability. The voltage boosting factor of the proposed inverter is 1.5. In this topology, the switched capacitor is charged to input dc source voltage and provide the voltage boosting feature. In the suggested structure the neutral point of the power grid is connected to mid-point of the dc-link capacitors. Therefore, the common mode voltage and leakage current are reduced. A comprehensive comparison among other recently topologies is done in this study. Simulation results validate the accurate performance of the proposed grid-tied inverter.
