Preliminary Design Analysis of an Axial Flux Yokeless Stator Switched Reluctance Machine

In this paper a new axial flux yokeless stator switched reluctance machine is designed specifically for drone applications. The machine incorporates a segmented stator and double rotor arrangement, along with a concentrated winding configuration, resulting in enhanced performance. First, the output power equation is derived for the proposed machine and proceeds to discuss the various geometric parameters in detail. The overall design methodology process is described, which leads to the attainment of performance results. To validate the calculated dimensions, a 3D finite element method is utilized to analyze the effectiveness of the machine’s performance. The study also focuses on evaluating the performance of the pole shoe on both the stator pole and the rotor. To demonstrate the practicality of the proposed machine, this paper provides a step-by-step explanation of its 3D view, offering insights into its physical appearance and structure.
