Performance Assessment of Underwater Optical Wireless Based on QPSK-OFDM

Underwater Optical Wireless Communication (UOWC) can be considered as one of the most appropriate types of wireless communication in the aquatic environment, due to its high data rate, reasonable cost, and quick response times. Despite these advantages of OWC now, water absorption and scattering of light are considered the most important challenge facing this type of wireless communication. Most of the research revolves around improving the performance of this system. By using various configurations of Multi-Input-Multi-Output (MIMO), in addition to Direct Detection Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DD-OOFDM) with Quadrature Phase Shift Keying, it is possible to provide ideas for advancement that would help in the development of the underwater channel (UOWC) (QPSK). The suggested system can achieve a maximum communication link distance of 173 m for 1x1 SISO and 230 m for 8x8 MIMO, with a bit error rate equivalent to 10

in clear water, 74 m for 1x1 SISO, and 101 m for 8x8 MIMO, with a bit error rate equivalent to 10

in coastal water, and 18 m for 1x1 SISO and 21.1 m for 8x8 MIMO, with a bit error rate equivalent to 10
