Prospects for the Use of Electric Drives in Urban Passenger Vehicle Transport in Ukraine

Ways of stimulating the development of electric transport worldwide have been studied, showing that implementing electric buses has great potential and advantages over existing urban road transport. The article presents a comparative analysis of electric buses with different ways of charging energy storage devices and proposes using electric buses on supercapacitors with charging at stops as the optimal option for cities in Ukraine. A model for improving the operational properties of urban passenger transport through the use of electric drive is also proposed. The research findings can be useful for strategies for electric transport development in Ukraine and other countries worldwide. The target audience for this article should be specialists and experts in the transport business, developers of transport systems, government officials, and decision-makers in the fields of energy and transport.
