Development of Automatic Weight Measurement System for Poultry Farms using IoT Technology

In contemporary poultry farming, automation plays a pivotal role in process enhancement. This proposed an innovative automated weight measurement system for poultry farms, employing Internet of Things (IoT) technology and the ESP8266 NodeMCU. The system is designed to efficiently measure weights using electronic load cells to convert weight readings into digital data. The gathered weight data is then transmitted to a cloud-based platform for efficient data collection and analysis. Lever-aging the capabilities of Google Sheets and Google Data Studio, the system translates raw weight data into easily understandable insights accessible via computers or mobile devices. The system effectively tracked growth rates in a practical trial conducted in a poultry farm housing 1,000 egg-laying hens. This collects data to empower farmers to make informed decisions and optimize growth strategies while reducing labor-intensive weight measurement tasks. By enabling precise and remote weight measurement, this IoT-based solution enhances growth analysis and reduces labor costs associated with conventional weight measurement practices. Moreover, it showcases the potential of IoT technology to revolutionize poultry farming practices, increasing efficiency and informed decision-making in farm management.
