Vibration and Sound Insulation Characteristics of Functionally Graded Sandwich Plates of Variable Thickness Type Under Elastic Boundary Constraints

The free vibration and sound insulation characteristics of functional gradient sandwich plates (FGM) with variable thickness are examined under various boundary conditions. The dynamic model of FGM sandwich plates is established from an energy standpoint using the modified Rayleigh-Ritz method and the fluid-solid coupling conditions based on the first-order shear deformation theory. The numerical solution is compared with the analytical solution of the FGM sandwich plate. The results show that the theoretical model of the FGM sandwich plate is accurate and effective. Then the impacts of various factors on the vibration and sound insulation performance of variable thickness FGM sandwich plates are analyzed.
