Design and Experimental Verification of Multilayer Waveguide Using Pin/Hole Structure

This letter presents a novel technique for minimizing RF leakage in metallic hollow waveguides fabricated using the multilayer split-block method. By integrating a pin/hole wall into the split-block multilayers, a substantial reduction of RF leakage can be achieved while reducing the circuit size and mitigating the performance variations. To validate the proposed approach, a slot antenna fed by a single ridge waveguide has been prototyped and experimentally validated.
