Spectral Analysis of Time Domain Simulations Using a Convoluted Radial Basis Function Network

We propose a convoluted radial basis function network to extract the frequency domain parameters, such as Q-values and resonant frequencies, of highly resonant devices’ time domain signals. The network is constructed in a suitable way concerning the activation function and the convolution, allowing fitting and extrapolation of those time signals. Due to this architecture, the network can be trained with a small number of early training samples. This procedure enables stopping the time domain computations of resonant devices, resulting in faster calculation times of the frequency parameters compared to usual spectral estimators. To show our method, we estimate the spectral properties of a highly resonant device’s response.
