Insertion of the WindPACT turbine based on a HESG in a medium voltage network

In this study, we focused on the integration of a Hybrid Excited Synchronous Generator (HESG) based wind conversion system WCS to the grid. We presented an integrated Matlab Simulink platform to model the grid, convertors, filters, wind turbine and the generator associated to its power convertors necessary for its command. After that, we presented the detailed control strategy od the DC link as well as the grid side converter. The simulation platform is than used to test the effectiveness of the implemented control strategies in normal operation mode and in failure mode.
