High-Voltage Lift DC–DC Converter With Reduced Switch Stress

DC microgrids have gained prominence due to the successful incorporation of renewable energies, such as fuel cells and photovoltaics (PV), through power electronic interfaces. Because of the lower voltage level of these power sources, dc–dc converters are required to connect them with the dc microgrid. This article presents a highly efficient nonisolated dc–dc converter with a dual-switch configuration, achieving high gain while minimizing switch stress. A modified switched inductor (SI) and a switched capacitor (SC) are incorporated to achieve a high gain in voltage. The incorporation of an additional switch in place of the diode results in the stress of voltage on active switches being only 25% of the output voltage. This proposed concept is validated by experimental findings acquired from a 380-V, 200-W prototype converter. The results also demonstrate that the converter maintains an efficiency of 95.79% at full load with superior utilization of its constituent parts.
