Impact study of radioactive release to the environment after hypothetical accident of AP1000 Nuclear Reactor

The monitoring of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere is a major environmental issue for fossil and nuclear power plants. The industry emission to the atmosphere is indexed as the main cause of environmental pollution because of its significant production of waste deserves special attention. These consequences have worried the population, which has prompted the authorities of the countries to take an effective counter measures to control the various sources of pollution.For this purpose, this present work is oriented to the calculation of the core inventory and doses before and after an accident at the AP1000 reactor. The accident sequences take into account the destruction of all fuel elements. In order to calculate the Total Effective Doses (TED) in the air, the atmospheric dispersion of radionuclides was modeled using Health Physics HOTSPOT code version 3.1.2 enable the assessment of the contamination of individuals receiving doses.
