Identifying the ungiven parameters of photovoltaic modules using a novel optimization algorithm

Efficiently optimizing photovoltaic (PV) systems is crucial for sustainable energy production. This study highlights the significance of precise parameter extraction and optimization to achieve optimal PV system performance within modern energy networks. PV module modeling, known for its nonlinear current-voltage behavior and limited cell datasheet information, presents inherent challenges. Recent research focuses on optimizing parameter extraction from the single diode model (SDM) using innovative algorithms. This paper introduces the Mountaineering Team Based Optimization (MTBO) algorithm for SDM parameter identification in PV modules. Through two simulation case studies, the algorithm’s efficacy is demonstrated, surpassing seven other established algorithms in terms of stability and accuracy. Obtained results emphasize the MTBO algorithm’s potential for enhancing PV system optimization and advancing sustainable energy practices.
