Backstepping control of a wind turbine connected to the grid (base on DFIG)

This study discusses the use of the backstepping method to control a nonlinear system and design a stable controller.The doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) is a nonlinear system, and its integration into a wind power system connected to the grid will complicate the control of the global system.Thus, the stabilization of the system requires a recursive method, which is provided in the backstepping method.The reactive power and electromagnetic torque are controlled by the rotor side converter (RSC) through the use of a nonlinear controller that is based on the backstepping technique.It is used by the grid side converter (GSC) to control the power switched with the grid and to regulate the DC-bus voltage.The simulation tests are done using the program MATLAB/Simulink to validate the efficiency of the technique in controlling the system.
