Experimental Studies of Superhydrophobic Aluminum Conductors by Anodized Etching Method to Improve the Anti-Corrosion Properties

Atmosphere corrosion inevitably occurs on overhead transmission lines, which causes the hidden dangers of reliability and safety during the service. Coatings technology has not been adopted as the normal countermeasure to protect aluminum conductors. Generally, salt spray for long term often greatly deteriorates the corrosion protection of anti-corrosion coatings. Here, this study proposed superhydrophobic aluminum conductors by anodized etching method to improve the anti-corrosion properties. In addition, anti-corrosion behaviors and mechanisms of prepared aluminum conductors have been studied synthetically.
