Recombination and Technology Complexity in Lead-Acid Batteries for Alternative Energy Vehicles

From Complex Adaptive Systems theory, this paper examines the evolution of Lead-Acid Batteries for Alternative Energy Vehicles. By taking advantage of the methodology developed by Strumsky et al, we represent the different degrees of novelty of the inventive activity, and the evolution on their complexity. Results show that, Lead-Acid Batteries have become a complementary technology, for the design of all Alternative Energy Vehicles, rather than a rival technology.
