Investigation of Small Signal Stability in a Multi-VSCs System

This paper focuses on the investigation of small signal stability in multi-VSCs (Voltage Source Converter) systems interconnected at a Point of Common Coupling (PCC). The presence of identical PCC points introduces significant interaction among VSCs, necessitating a thorough analysis of their interconnection dynamics. A transfer function is applied to gain insights into the inter-VSC interaction. This paper introduces an interaction-free system that neglects interference of other components in grids. With using eigenvalue, and maximum singular value, a comparison between an interaction-free system, and an interaction-presence system is presented by sweeping active power, grid parameters, and control parameters. Also, reactive power control modes that could affect the stability associated with PCC voltage are investigated.
