Stability Analysis of a DC Microgrid Integrating Wind, Fuel Cell, and Microturbine Power-Generation Systems Fed to a Multi-machine Power System

This paper examines the stability of a multi-machine power system (MMPS) connected with a DC microgrid (MG) consisting of a hybrid renewable-energy system (HRES) and a hybrid energy storage system (HESS). The HRES includes a wind-turbine generator (WTG), a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), and a microturbine generator (MTG). The HESS combines a supercapacitor (SC) and a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB). A bidirectional DC/AC converter is connected between the DC MG and the MMPS. This paper establishes mathematical models for the MMPS with the DC MG and analyzes them using eigenvalues, steady-state, dynamic, and transient simulations under different operating conditions. The effectiveness of the HESS in improving the smoothness and stability of the MMPS connected with the DC MG is also evaluated.
