Space-time Broadband Beamforming Based on Constraint Matrix Reconstruction and Blocking Matrix Preprocessing

Under the conditions of main lobe interference, the adaptive broadband beamforming suffers from problems such as mainbeam deformation and increased side lobe. This paper proposes two adaptive beamforming approaches to overcome this issue: one based on frequency domain constraint matrix reconstruction, and the other based on blocking matrix preprocessing (BMP). The first algorithm build new constraints of interference when constructing the frequency domain constraint matrix, while the second algorithm uses a blocking matrix to preprocess the received signal. Then, both algorithms perform adaptive beamforming. Broadband main lobe interference can be effectively suppressed by both algorithms, and the side lobe level does not rise. The efficiency of the proposed approaches can be confirmed by the simulation results.
