Convex Control Set Model-Based Predictive Control Applied to a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

This paper explores the application of Convex Control Set (CCS) Model-based Predictive Control (MPC) applied to a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Details about the controller design, simulation and experimental results are provided. The main contribution of this work is the experimental application of the control with the predicted accumulated error included in the predictive control cost function. Results show the reference tracking and disturbance rejection, as well as other benefits of the proposed control structure.
