Flexible Feeder Reconfiguration Based on Correlation of Load Components and Consumption Type

Power losses can be efficiently reduced by opening normally closed switches and closing normally open tie-lines of distribution feeders, where load power plays an important role in this process. Therefore, the demand side should be accurately modeled to show the behavior of electricity consumers more efficiently. Loads are not constant and vary with voltage magnitude changes, which depend on the type of consumer. On the other hand, each load can be presented by its constant-power, constant-current, and constant-impedance components. Accordingly, finding the relationship between these components and load type will help to suggest more flexible reconfiguration models. Thus, the current study mathematically formulates the correlation of load components with consumer type in order to present a more effective reconfiguration formulation. The results conducted on well-known distribution systems show that the proposed framework is efficient enough to approach optimal solutions in a shorter computing time than other existing reconfiguration models.
