Analysis of the Impact of Human Errors on Emergency Power Outages in Medium and High Voltage Power Grids

One of the primary causes of outages in power grids is the human error of the maintenance and operating staff. A brief review of methods for evaluating the influence of the human factor on the reliability of power supply in power grades is presented in the first part of the paper. In the second part, an analysis of the influence of human errors in case of emergency power outages, which caused disruptions in the power supply of consumers in medium and high voltage power grids of an electricity transmission company in Bulgaria for 2022, is presented. Additional measures have been proposed to reduce the probability of making the registered human errors in the operation of the electrical power facilities.
