Analysis of the Limitations of Large Eddy Simulation in Fire Smoke Movement Modelling

Numerical simulation of fires is widely used in the study of fire smoke, but high-precision simulation requires extremely high computer performance and is not suitable for large-scale engineering calculations. The Large Eddy Simulation (LES) method has simplified certain aspects such as scale and boundary conditions, with less computational load, making it suitable for engineering calculations. This paper first analyzes the limitations of the LES method in numerical calculations, combustion models, and fire smoke models, and then compares numerical simulation results with physical experimental results, summarizing the application value of the LES method in fire smoke research.
