A Symmetrical Z-S Compensated Boost Converter Based Inductive Wireless Charging System

This paper proposes a symmetrical Z-S compensated inductive power transfer (IPT) system with an active clamped boost inverter (ACBI). The boost inductor of the ACBI helps in maintaining the continuous input current with minimum input EMI filter, while symmetrical Z-S compensation helps in reducing current stress on other compensation components. Further the Z-S compensation also reduces the bi-furcation issues and therefore it can be utilized for higher power applications. All the mathematical analysis and design aspects are explained in detail. Moreover, a 1.1 kW system has been simulated on the MATLAB/Simulink platform for verifying the feasibility of the system.
