Real Time Monitoring and Detection of Abnormal Activities in Distribution Line

The biggest predicament of the AC power system is the safety of humans and other living beings from electrical hazards caused due to the failure of protection in the distribution field. Distribution systems are continuously exposed to fault occurrences for various reasons, such as lightning strikes, failure of power system components due to aging of equipment, and human errors. So, the major contribution of this work is to resolve the problems to protect the distribution system from faults that occur due to the climatic conditions like lightning or any other hazards that are simple and economic. Real-time monitoring, detection, circuit breaking, and location of faults in the distribution field are the major features of the module developed. The system employs relays, current sensors, voltage sensor and micro-controllers as its main components. The data acquisition on fault type and its position is done in ESP32 with the help of firebase and with online user-interface.
