A Low Power and High Linearity Ultra Wideband Mixer

In this paper, a low power and high linearity active down-conversion mixer for ultra-wideband communication protocol is designed. In the design, the transconductance stage and switching stage are folded to reduce the supply voltage, and current-reused technology, inductor source degeneracy technology and current injection technology are used to improve the conversion gain and linearity. Based on the SMIC 40 nm CMOS process, the mixer achieves a maximum conversion gain (CG) of 13.06 dB, a minimum noise figure (NF) of 11.25 dB and an optimal third-order input intercept point (IIP3) of -0.39 dBm in the operating band of 6.25 GHz-8.75 GHz. The circuit consumes 4.4 mW power at a supply voltage of 1.2V.
