Aggregate Dispatchable Power of Virtual Power Plants Considering Wind and Solar Uncertainty

The integration of renewable energy and flexible resources has always been one of the key objectives of virtual power plants (VPPs). This paper proposes a VPP internal dispatchable power aggregation method that considers the uncertainty of wind and solar resources. The method aims to fully utilize the power regulation potential of the VPP. Based on a two-stage adaptive robust optimization (ARO) approach, this method ensures the optimality of the VPP’s internal dispatchable power aggregation region and the feasibility of region decomposition. By using coupla wind and solar scenarios and applying K-means clustering, the method obtains typical wind and solar output profiles, reducing the probability of infeasible decomposition due to uncertainty. The case study results demonstrate that this method can effectively determine the maximum achievable dispatchable power range for the VPP.
