Review of Insulator Wet Flashover Modelling and Factors Affecting Characteristics

Extreme changes in global climate and frequent occurrence of heavy rainstorms have put forward higher requirements on the wet flash characteristics of insulator outer insulation, so the study of insulator wet flash characteristics can provide theoretical guidance for the design of outer insulation. This paper analyzes the insulator wet flash model, and summarizes the current research status of insulator wet flash characteristics in recent years at home and abroad in terms of the factors affecting insulator wet flash characteristics, summarizes the insulator parameters such as structural parameters, auxiliary parachute shed parameters, paint modification, and rainfall parameters such as rainfall intensity, rain conductivity, surface water droplet distribution, and other rainfall parameters on the insulator wet flash characteristics, and finally puts forward the direction of the future research on insulator wet flash characteristics.
