Effects of Stray Capacitance on Voltage Transfer Characteristics of Capacitive Voltage Transformer

Capacitive voltage transformer (CVT) is the most widely used voltage measurement equipment in power systems with voltage levels of 110kV and above. However, due to the presence of capacitive voltage divider, compensation reactor and Stray capacitance, there are nonpower frequency resonance points in the voltage transfer characteristics of CVT, which make CVT has large errors when measuring broadband voltages near the resonance frequency. This makes CVT have a great error when measuring the broadband voltage near the resonance points. In this paper, a CVT model considering stray capacitance is constructed based on the principle of electromagnetic duality, and the relevant parameters of a 35kV CVT modeled as TYD35/$\sqrt{3}$-0.01HF are extracted, and the influence of stray capacitance on the voltage transfer characteristics of CVT is summarized through the EMTPRV, which is instructive for optimizing the voltage transfer characteristics of CVT by improving the production process.
