Day-ahead to intraday optimization model for power systems with reliability constraints

With the increasing penetration rate of wind power, the uncertainty and operational risks of the power system are growing. Therefore, methods considering uncertainty in dispatching are receiving increasing attention from scholars. This study considers the uncertainties of wind power, load, and unit failures, and aims to optimize the intraday scheduling of energy under reliability constraints. The optimization process includes two stages: day-ahead planning and intraday adjustments. The intraday adjustments are based on the day-ahead dispatch plan, which is updated according to the latest forecast curves of wind power and load. This process reduces the risk caused by wind power prediction errors and random component failures. The model adopts a stochastic optimization approach to consider risks and ensure the cost-effectiveness and reliability of the system. The optimization results can help power system operators make decisions on unit dispatch and reduce wind curtailment rates, ensuring the supply-demand balance in high-penetration wind power systems. Through case analysis, the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed model have been verified.
