Determination of Floating Power Plant Parameters for Emergency Conditions in the Dnieper Basin

This article addresses the issue of meeting Ukraine's urgent electricity needs through the utilization of floating power plants. The focus is on ensuring the survivability of these plants during emergency situations. Emphasis is placed on the priority of employing energy modules based on medium-speed diesel and simple-cycle gas turbine technologies. The impact of power capacity on the overall parameters of floating power plants is analyzed, and statistical dependencies of energy module performance indicators within the 3 to 30 MW power range are established. Additionally, operational constraints for floating power plants in the Dnieper basin are provided, outlining maximum dimensions for length, width, draft, and height: 100 m, 16 m, 3.5 m, and 8 m, respectively. A mathematical model is developed to determine the power capacity of a floating power plant while considering these size limitations. It is found that, within the specified constraints, the maximum power capacity will range between 36 MW and 72 MW, with autonomy periods ranging from 1 to 2 weeks.
