Effective Methods to Control the Switched Reluctance Drive of Pumping and Compressor Equipment and Electric Transport

The switched reluctance drive (SRD) of a single-cylinder piston compressor of refrigeration machine, a centrifugal pump of hydraulic water supply system and electric transport is considered. Block diagrams of the SRD control algorithms in these systems have been developed by changing switching angles, regulating supply or phase voltage, and regulating phase current limit level. Simulation modeling of the SRD dynamic modes has been performed taking into account the periodic dependence of compressor load torque on rotor angle, the flow rate cyclic variation in water supply system and the traction motor torque of electric transport. The analysis of control algorithms that provides the maximum efficiency factor of the switched reluctance motor (SRM) in operating range of speed control and the requirements for traction motor characteristic formation, pumping and compressor unit performance regulation is carried out. Based on generalization of the results, the recommendations for choosing effective methods to control the SRM as part of variable load systems have been developed.
