Modeling of Vortex Multi-Phase Aerosols and Their Transparency Assessment Under Different Conditions

Military air forces and civil aviation of any country operate helicopters. Very often, helicopters are forced to take off or land on unprepared sites. This often happens during rescue operations, hostilities, and in countries with an arid climate. The cloud of dust and abrasive particles rising into the air is dangerous for the crew and significantly reduces the life of the engines. One of the ways to solve the issue of improving the conditions for landing a helicopter is to equip it with electronic vision and notification systems. Before the development of auxiliary electronic systems or automatic systems, it is necessary to mathematically describe the air vortices with solid particles formation processes. The use of means of modeling the movement of solid particles in an air vortex, approaches to the process of modeling the movement of particles in air vortices created by main rotor blades are considered. The calculated trajectories of the movement of solid particles are shown.
