Online Compensation Method of Infrared Temperature Measurement Error Based on Fusion of Infrared Vision and Visible Light Vision

Infrared thermography is a widely used non-contact temperature measurement method, but the water mist on the optical path will seriously interfere with the infrared temperature measurement results. Aiming at the interference caused by the water mist, an online compensation method of infrared temperature measurement error is proposed based on multi-source visual fusion. Firstly, considering that water mist will reduce transmittance and scatter infrared radiation, a compensation model is established based on the infrared temperature measurement principle. Secondly, the scattering effect of water mist is quantified by merging the multi-scale infrared thermal image after guided filtering. Subsequently, the water mist transmittance in the visible light waveband is estimated online by visible light image, and then is corrected to be the water mist transmittance in the infrared waveband. Finally, temperature measurement experiments are carried out under the influence of water mist. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively reduce the infrared temperature measurement error caused by water mist.
