Evolution of Arc Model and Its Application in Low-Voltage Single-Phase Grounding Fault

Based on the principle of energy balance, the evolution and development of arc model are sorted out. The internal relation between Cassie arc model and Mayr arc model is analyzed. Based on Mayr arc model, an arc length variable is introduced. An arc model based on control theory and its modified model are developed. According to the derived four kinds of the arc theory, the corresponding arc models are established based on differential equation editor(DEE). The characteristics of arc voltage, arc current and volt-ampere of four kinds of arc models are compared and analyzed by Simulink simulation. Simulation results reveal the phenomena of the arc burning and extinguishing by arc voltage curve, and zero rest of the arc current.
