CRYO ASIC for Noble Liquid Time Projection Chamber Test Setup and Characterization

The CRYO ASIC digitizer is a System-On-Chip (SoC) readout ASIC intended for digitization of multiple charge-collection channels in liquid Time Projection Chambers (TPCs). This ASIC has been designed to operate in multiple temperatures ranging from room temperature down to 81 K. This temperature range makes it ideal for experiments based on liquid xenon and liquid argon Time Projection Chamber (TPC) technology. This paper describes the test setup and presents the initial results for a room temperature testbench and testing while submerged in liquid nitrogen. The ASIC and test systems described here are targeted for experiments like the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), nEXO experiment for neutrinoless double beta decay, and other noble liquid TPC detectors.
