Design a Tourist Guide Mobile Application to Realize Sustainable Tourism in Kupang, Indonesia

This research has the purpose to design and develop an innovative mobile application for tour guides in Kupang City, Indonesia, with the goal of harnessing information technology to accomplish this objective, this can enhance the role of tour guides as the frontline representatives in the tourism industry, thereby contributing to the economy and promoting sustainable tourism. In planning and designing the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method application, this approach actively engages the tour guide community and local government in the development process. This involvement includes conducting interviews with users of the tour guide application and business actors in tourist areas. The data obtained serves as the foundation for the design of mobile applications aimed at providing practical travel guidance. The research findings indicate that the innovative mobile application designed for tour guides holds excellent potential for realizing sustainable tourism in Kupang City, Indonesia. Through the utilization of information technology and active engagement with the tour guide community and local government, this application is anticipated to serve as an effective platform for advancing the local tourism industry and fostering sustainable economic development.
