Designing a Customized Order Management System Prototype for Printing Products and Services: From Concept to Development

Digital printing technology has transformed the printing business. Businesses are now able to make customized prints with better speed and efficiency. To simplify the printing process, an effective order management system is now essential. The digital printing process can use the order management system simultaneously. Therefore, this article describes each stage from concept to prototype on how to develop an order management system for digital printing services. Taking a case study of a digital printing company with conventional business processes, where technical problems related to ordering often arise. We analyzed, evaluated the current system, and produced a prototype order management system that can solve the problems of the conventional system. The purpose of this research is to develop an order management system from concept to prototype in a digital printing company. Starting with analyzing the current business process to evaluate and figure out the right solution to model the proposed system solution to build the system as needed. As a result, it was able to find the best solution for running the ordering system, specifically for printing service products. The result of this research is a web-based order management system that integrates the process from the ordering division to the production division. The expectation is that this system will be able to create effective performance in placing orders, starting from the first product order to picking up the ordered product.
