Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) as reliable communications bus for micro-launchers

Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) is a set of standards developed by the Time-Sensitive Networking task group of the IEEE 802.1 working group. These standards define mechanisms for the time-sensitive transmission of data over deterministic Ethernet Networks. A flexible, reliable and deterministic communication bus have been designed, implemented and qualified for flight in the frame of the avionic development for micro launchers that will fly with MIURA 1. The fault tolerant communication bus enables hard real time communications and secure time-multiplexed data transmision over Ethernet links. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the design, implementation and qualification process together with the configuration and the performance analysis of the communication bus.
