Pipelined-SAR ADC Calibration Technique Based on Gain-Bit Weights

In this paper, a Pipelined-SAR ADC reconstruction strategy based on gain-bit weights is used. The foreground and background calibration algorithms adapted to this reconstruction are proposed for improving the performance loss due to reference voltage offset, SAR ADC capacitor mismatch, comparator offset, and inter-stage amplifier gain error. The algorithm is able to improve the SFDR of the target ADC from 62.95dB to 90.46dB and the SNDR from 49.53dB to 80.79dB.
