Controllable Growth of P3HT Single-Crystal Films for Organic Field-Effect Transistors

Efficient charge transport and low defect density are desirable in conjugated polymers transistors. However, the properties of conjugated polymers are still limited by intrinsic conformational disorders. Herein, we developed an effective approach to uniform poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) single-crystal films for excellent charge transports. Through the synergistic control of electric field and temperature, precise regulation of crystal kinetics was managed for the growth of P3HT single-crystal films, the organic filed-effect transistor (OFET) performance of which significantly increased up to 0.02 cm

/V•s with a low threshold voltage of –1 V and the on/off ratio of 10
