Monitoring System for Safe Environment Air Quality

This paper discusses about the weather monitoring and controlling system, based on a Raspberry Pi, the proposed model integrates temperature, humidity, LPG gas detection, air quality and light intensity sensors. With a view to provide handy awareness to the environment, the proposed system assesses and monitors the environmental parameters concurrently, in less than 2 minutes, the measured data will be made available in a Google spreadsheet for speedy and instant access. The system incorporates a control mechanism to ensure to maintain recommended conditions and safety. The system is designed to turn on a fan to maintain the environmental temperature if the room temperature exceeds the set threshold. The system consists of a buzzer that will be activated if there is leak in the LPG cylinder. The Raspberry Pi is used as a central processing unit that collects and coordinates the data from the associated sensors and controls the associated peripheral loads. The proposed system is versatile in monitoring, assessing, automation and threshold setting. It strengthens the comforts, safety and efficiency. The recorded data can be accessed from user’s mobile there by it makes the system handy and user friendly. The system proposed can be easily scalable and versatile for future enhancement that makes the system a cost-effective device for monitoring and controlling.
