Redundant imaging payload data processing system based on a heterogeneous MPSoC

We present a payload data processing unit for imaging payloads in New Space earth observation missions. The system is based on a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) heterogeneous multiprocessing System-on-a-Chip (MPSoC). To increase the reliability beyond what is possible using only software mitigation techniques, a dual cold redundant configuration is chosen.
